Instead, I was met with one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had at an AutoZone — all thanks to someone named Anna, who claimed to be the manager. From the start, Anna was rude, dismissive, and aggressive. She grabbed the OBD scanner without clearly explaining anything, walked out to my car with a bad attitude, plugged in the device, and just as quickly unplugged it. When I asked what she had done or if she cleared the code, she brushed me off and said “we can’t do that.” When I asked for her name, she refused to give it — and instead called another employee, Keith, who was the total opposite: respectful, knowledgeable, and helpful. He explained the issue and cleared the code without hesitation, even correcting Anna by saying it’s perfectly allowed in Washington (only restricted in California). So not only was she rude, but she didn’t even know company policy. I came for a simple code scan — something people do at AutoZone every day — and left feeling completely disrespected, frustrated, and shocked that someone like Anna is in a management position. Huge thanks to Keith for actually helping me. But AutoZone, please retrain or re-evaluate who you’re putting in charge. This kind of treatment is unacceptable.
