  Gerber in Renton. These folks did us right - especially Sandy the estimator. My family is so grateful. Due to a minor accident, we were forced to have our wheelchair van repaired, which for us, is a really big deal. Our adult daughter is severely disabled and 100% dependent on us. That van is our lifeline to her medical appointments and day program. Not to mention work and errands if one of us isn’t home to be with her. Two weeks, the bare minimum time that’s typically required for the kind of repair we needed, might as well be forever. Try renting a wheelchair van - places don’t have them. Accessible taxis? So expensive. I called ahead dreading to ask for special treatment. We’re used to being dismissed by most people in the corporate world. It’s not personal. People on the job just don’t have any incentive to help us when we need it. We’re mostly invisible to folks — not worth extra effort. Gerber and Sandy (and Cora) are the opposite. They didn’t just listen to us, they saw us, understood, and then went above and beyond. They pushed us to the front of the line (sorry to everyone who had to wait extra because of us) and turned our van around in record time. It’s so rare. I just can’t thank them enough. They gave us a huge gift that went beyond car repair, and were a bright spot in our fulfilling but challenging lives.

  We brought our car here because they were listed as a recommended shop by our insurer. When we pointed out visible damage and asked that it be reviewed for the estimate, staff and management discouraged discussion and stated they would only repair what they determined was necessary. We were told we do not have a say in what damage is documented or addressed. We chose to leave because we were not confident all accident-related damage would be properly evaluated or included, particularly where undiscovered damage could affect vehicle safety or future repairs. Vehicle owners should be able to ask questions and have concerns documented during the estimating process. Due to this experience, we submitted concerns to the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner and to corporate at Gerber Collision & Glass so the process can be reviewed and improved for future customers.

  Cora was very professional, nice and a pleasure to work with. My car was ready early and they returned my rental for me, which I loved so I didn't have to travel to take it back myself. And they washed and vacuumed out my car. Gerber did great!!!

  I strongly caution anyone considering Garber Collision, Renton location. My vehicle was in their custody for collision repairs and sent to a subcontracted alignment shop, during which both outer tie rod bolts were stripped, causing significant damage. Despite this being shop-caused damage, Garber Collision refused to take responsibility, and the alignment shop also denied liability. They refused to release my vehicle, attempting to force me to pay for repairs I did not cause, and would not address the damage unless I paid. This experience was extremely frustrating, unsafe, and unprofessional. I had to document everything, and I am now pursuing legal remedies to resolve the shop-caused damage. Be careful — they may take your vehicle and refuse to return it, even when the damage was caused while the vehicle was in their custody.
