- KBKris BrazasOct 30, 20251.0It took over 5 hours to try and calibrate my new windshield, once I drove it home after install a code came up on my dash. The ACC functionality was not working. I called them the next day and they sent a different tech out to do a new windshield. The tech told me he didn't need to replace it but was able to re calibrate it. I drove it home again and yes the code came up. I took it to the dealership and they said due to the after market windshield installed, that I should return it for the code issue or pay out of pocket to the dealership to repair. I took it down to the safelite store and Greg (employee) told me, he hates that the dealers blame them and it was most likely the vehicle having an issue from when it was built (its just over a year old vehicle). I contacted USAA my insurance and they had their claims dept. look over the notes from safelite. They said that I have a strong case so later that month safelite contacted me and arranged to put in the manufacturer windshield which they did. They also told me they had missed a step in the calibration from prior and just caught this on this install. No more codes hooray! The notes from safelite that I finally had been given copies of shows on the previous muliple times they re-calibrated the windshield, errors did come up. They just decided to give me back my car each time knowing this but denying it was their fault. IF it were not for USAA stepping in, they would have never taken accountability. That is horrible service!

I was told what I would be required to pay upfront, and it never changed. I recommend Safelite AutoGlass without any reservation.
