Last night, I accidentally put five quarts of oil into my 2000 Honda Civic, not realizing the proper amount. On my way to work this morning, my car began shooting out smoke, and I was completely panicked and worried that I had caused permanent engine damage. I pulled into Jiffy Lube at 7:45 AM, even though the shop did not officially open until 8:00 AM. Despite this, Jeanne immediately stepped in to help me. She recognized how distressed I was and didn’t hesitate to act. Her calm demeanor and reassurance alone helped ease my panic. Jeanne, with the help of Carmen, took all the proper steps to safely remove the excess oil using specialized equipment and handled everything with complete professionalism and care. Their teamwork, knowledge, and kindness quite literally saved my engine today — and with it, my ability to get to work and continue my life without a major setback. Jeanne is truly exceptional. If she is not already in a leadership role, she absolutely should be. Her compassion, work ethic, and confidence reflect someone who goes far above and beyond what is expected. Jiffy Lube is incredibly lucky to have her, and she fully deserves recognition, a raise, and a promotion. Carmen was also wonderful — supportive, professional, and clearly someone who takes pride in doing things the right way. Because of this experience, I can confidently say that I will only be bringing my vehicles to the Jiffy Lube outside Federal Way High School from now on. Acts like this build trust for life.
