Shop refused to reinstall the factory installed dash camera, calling it an after market product which it is not. I had to expend additional funds at the dealer and install myself. Not a difficult job, Safelite should include this work for what they charge insurance.

Proper repair took 4 shop visits, intervention by my insurance company (twice), and many calls and emails. Lesson: cars with HUDs (heads-up display) means OEM glass is needed (i.e. specifically get your insurance company to authorize OEM at the front-end). The default is after-market glass. Fine for non-HUD vehicles. Poor substitute for HUD vehicles. The glass curvature is very different, which affects the visual presentation of the HUD. The first aftermarket windshield Safelite installed was obviously defective. When I brought it back, the technician said, "...yes, it is really bad...". i.e. Severe HUD distortion. So why did Safelite release it from the shop to me, given it was so obvious? Second aftermarket windshield had less severe HUD distortion but still nauseating to drive. At that point, I requested and my insurance company authorized OEM. The Safelite scheduler said she would insert that in the work order (WO) and that a shop leader would authorize. Third visit - complete waste. OEM glass was not in the WO plus the authorizing shop leader was not at the shop. The shop had not even ordered the OEM glass yet. So another 1.5 weeks of waiting. My insurance company had to intervene (again). Fourth visit - finally got it done right. In all cases, shop never called upon work completion as promised. And the local shop number redirects to Safelites national customer care team (a bit of a contradiction). The Bellevue, WA shop for Safelite used to be good. Not any more.

Scratched newly installed windshield.
Usually when you have a claim opened through your insurance company, they would call you, after 3 weeks I had to call in myself and schedule an appointment.
They also don’t return any stickers you have on the windshield( unless you go back and ask for them), saying they are not responsible for them because they tear apart easily, a lot of people are living in buildings where you need those stickers to enter your garage, they should take this in consideration

Reliable good, fast, friendly and efficient service. Found the money on the Internet, scheduled the appointment which was only two days later, and boom… They came they went was not too expensive (Would’ve been way more expensive to go through my insurance!!) And the tech was very friendly and super fast. I think he was only here for 30 minutes now I have a brand new windshield instead of a faithful glass.

While the shop did fine work replacing my windshield on my Model 3 Tesla, their customer contact process broke down in a big way during my recent service. Good luck being able to contact folks at this shop by phone. Their system sends you on endless loops and did not allow me to reach a human much less a human at the shop where my car was being serviced. I was trying to find out the status of my car since I had not been contacted after the estimated service time. When I was unable to reach them by phone, I was forced to drive to the shop to see what had happened. As it turned out, my car was ready but no one had contacted me. I never found out why this happened, and it made me quite frustrated that there was no way to contact them directly. If you have had a similar experience, I recommend that you let Safelite know that their customer contact system is hurting their business. I found all other aspects of the service experience acceptable.
