Attention Jiffy Lube Arlington: you should seriously consider taking down your “15-minute oil change” sign, given that I waited an hour and a half with only one car in front of me. This was, hands down, the most painful Jiffy Lube experience I’ve ever had 😂 feel free to read if you want a chuckle into how bad this was. (Occurred on 2/25/26 around 2pm)
I waited about 40 minutes behind a single vehicle getting an oil change. Mind you, there were three employees working, and during that time they were truly doing nothing while I waited. When I was finally waved in, the woman who was apparently the manager decided to take a phone call - one that ended up lasting over 30 minutes. Apparently, she is the only person there who knows how to do an oil change, because while she was gone, the two other men did not work on my car at all.
Instead, they stood around cracking jokes and typing excessively on the computer for an extended period of time, with absolutely no work being done. I genuinely started thinking, “What essay are you guys writing right now?” Truly??? 😂 I swear they were just clicking around to look busy - long enough to write a three-page paper with the number of keystrokes happening.
After waiting 40 minutes initially, then another 20 minutes after being waved in, I finally (and very politely) asked if they were going to start working on my car. One of the employees then went to the other worker and told him that “I was in a hurry” which I never said? Hahaha. Just curious if they were actually alive and well.
That worker then came over and said, word for word: “Hey, he mentioned that you were in a hurry, so maybe you should just leave and come back another time when you aren’t.”
…WHATTTT??? Lol. 😂😂😭
I told him, “Ummm… I’ve waited almost an hour. I think I’d like to get my oil changed now.” He then explained that their manager had randomly left them and that they were only able to do “specific things” on cars. We looked over at the manager, who was still giggling on the phone and had been for about 20 minutes.
Interestingly enough, right after that conversation, they suddenly began my oil change… so apparently they are able to do it? I guess you just have to request that they start working on your car for them to actually begin.
Unfortunately, I should’ve believed them when they said they couldn’t do much, because the oil change itself was incredibly messy. Oil was everywhere, and my car smelled like oil the entire drive home. I still wonder if something was done incorrectly.
Then my battery died - which has never happened before. That added another 10 minutes of them jump-starting my car and somehow blaming it on me. When it was finally time to pay, they took my card and started charging it without telling me the total. I had to ask, “Hey… how much are you charging my card?” 😂 Just ridiculous.
Right as they were wrapping up, the manager finally returned - apparently finished with her personal phone call now that a car is finishing up. She then went to every car behind me (and even the other lane) without speaking to me once and started loudly apologizing for the wait and blaming it all on my car battery dying 😂 I guess she was feeling guilty about the 6+ cars behind her that was created from her 30 minute phone call and found a great opportunity to blame the customer for the wait. Which, for the record, didn’t happen until the last 10 minutes I was there.
I’m sorry, but no. you were on the phone for 30 minutes, and no one else knew how to do anything. But sure, I’ll take the blame for the lack of professionalism and terrible work ethic.
Sorry for the long rant, but this was genuinely one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. I almost never write reviews, but with a 4.8-star rating, people deserve to know the reality. If you’re thinking about getting an oil change here - DO NOT. Also that lady manager should not be running the place. I guess they promote anyone who can actually do an oil change. Truly will never go to another Jiffy Lube again.
