Most places push you to get extra things done especially when your a women! They did offer other services but they were honest about the condition of my car and some of the maintenance could wait! They check other little things for free, gave me a free quote on other services, and replaced my engine air filter for free because I had the part with me. John was very helpful as well as G and Humza. Thank you all for ur hard work and consideration.

I want to specifically address the way this Valvoline location’s manager, John, handled my situation. After my oil change, I noticed loud knocking and tapping noises that were not present before. I came back multiple times requesting a full diagnostic or for someone to check the cause, and John repeatedly refused to perform a diagnostic or take my concerns seriously. Instead of investigating, he dismissed the issue, insisted the service was done correctly, and claimed that any damage wasn’t Valvoline’s fault — without ever checking the car. I later went to Midas, where I learned that my engine had been overfilled with oil, which caused internal damage. John’s lack of professionalism, accountability, and compassion is unacceptable. A good manager should care about customer safety and take responsibility when mistakes are made — not deflect or ignore legitimate concerns. I’ve since filed a complaint with the Virginia Attorney General’s Office for further investigation. Also I am deeply disappointed with the service I received at this Valvoline location. I brought my vehicle in for a simple oil change, and the technicians overfilled my oil, which led to serious engine knocking and long-term damage. After the service, I immediately began experiencing loud tapping and clicking noises that had never been present before. I returned to this location multiple times asking for a diagnostic or proper inspection, but I was refused each time and told “everything was fine.” When I sought a full diagnostic from Midas, it confirmed that my engine was overfilled with oil, which caused internal damage. Despite providing receipts, mileage photos, and proof, Valvoline’s corporate team sided with the store and denied any responsibility. I have since filed a complaint with the Virginia Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, as this experience has cost me time, money, and the use of my vehicle. To anyone considering this location — please be cautious. What should have been a routine oil change turned into an ongoing nightmare. I expected integrity and professionalism, and I received neither.
