I would not recommend renting a penske truck. I made a reservation for a 7am, monday morning pickup, but was instead called at 6am by a rep saying that they needed to move my reservation to 8am, so they had time to get a truck to my ppick up location (home depot). I had my reservation for over a week; they should have planned better to have a truck there waiting for me by dropping it off the previous evening or something, if they knew they wouldn't be able to drive one there by 7am the morning of.
So i show up at home depot at 8am, and the truck is not there. The home depot customer service rep calls penske, and they said it won't be there til 8:30, so i call them, and say that the heck. The rep tells me it won't take that long, and it will be more like 8:15. At 8:45, there is still no truck. I call penske again to see what's going on, and he calls the drivers to check on them, then calls me back and says they are just getting into winchester, and need to get gas, then will be there.
The truck doesn't end up showing up until 9:05, two hours after my reservation, 1 hour after that said they would be there. Then, as the home depot customer service rep is checking the truck out to me, they have an issue completing the checkout process beacuse penske messed something up with the reservation on their end. Luckily, they just gave me the keys and let me leave while they figure it out, instead of making me wait there longer, since i had already stook around home depot foralmost 90 minutes.
On top of that, the truck's 'service air bag' indicator was on, which seems like a safety issue that should be addressed before renting the truck out to customers.
In all, very bad experience. Will not use again. You probably shouldn't either.

Evil company. My father after 21 years with a certain corporation was let go after they leased drivers to penske. The made up reason, after no write ups or warnings, creating an uncomfortable work environment. The real reason. My mom's cancer was driving up their premiums and costing the insurance company money. They wanted any reason to get rid of a man that worked the sams job and same company for 2 decades. This was confirmed by someone who worked for the company leasing penske. Evil people and an evil company. Now three people are looking at being homeless and my mom's going to struggle for her care. He was fired the day before Thanksgiving. Thanks Penske. I hope you guys and Advance are happy.
