- JMJustin McCoyMar 14, 20261.0Needed my battery tested yesterday and I randomly chose this store because I am not from Winchester. I pull in and a female employee is hanging outside with the door open smoking a cigarette, okay. I interrupted her smoke break and i apologized to her, not that i needed to, and politely asked to get my battery checked. She tested it and said a battery cell is bad and walked away saying "We can't change it here". I asked her where will someone change my battery. "I don't know, Battery Mart, I'm not from here." So Autozone it is. I told Autozone what happened and the guy laughed, "doesn't suprise me." Don't have a sign outside that you install batteries if the employees dont want to. $250 went to Autozone 🤷🏻♂️

Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
