- KAKat AspenMar 5, 20265.0I had an extremely scary experience with a dying battery while driving. I didn’t know if it was the battery, the alternator, or something else completely. I limped my car the next day down to Advanced and they immediately brought out their testing equipment and verified that the alternator was working properly and no other issues were present, just a battery that could hold a charge but nearly no voltage. They sold me a well priced battery and because of manufacturer limitations on install, pointed me in the right direction to an affordable and reliable auto shop the next block over. They carried the new battery to my passenger seat and carried the old one out and back to the shop on my return trip for a nice rebate for the old battery. Overall, I would 100% come back here for anything else I needed help with.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
