- APAlonzo Pablo5 days ago1.0Visited this location on Saturday April 4th 2026 to buy a new battery for my truck & left disappointed. When I asked the gentleman (black male with dreadlocks) at the register for confirmation of battery installation with the purchase of a battery, he said it depends on the vehicle. After going out to my truck and looking under the hood, he states that he wouldn't be able to install the battery because of the panels that were surrounding it (panels weren't hard to remove at all). I said "What if I take the panels off?" which he replies "I don't recommend it" (either he didn't know what he was doing or just didn't want to install the battery). Needless to say I left and went to the Auto Zone on Holland Road, which a kind staff member was able to remove the panels and replace my battery without ANY issue. Would not recommend Advanced Auto Parts to anyone as Auto Zone has a more competent staff who can better assist you with your auto part needs.

- JJJayMar 4, 20261.0Issac needed to be replaced. Usually I can come in,hand my ID and use the code reader, but suddenly with him that's no longer the case. Don't need a stranger in my car missing the port multiple times and then ripping it out showing a clear lack of respect for others property.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
