- MVMario VazquezMar 25, 20261.0I went to this store to buy an item, and while I was paying I asked a simple question about whether they sell brake lights for cars. The employee at the register, identified on the receipt as TJ P., responded in a very dry and condescending tone saying he couldn’t answer because he was in the middle of the transaction. The transaction he referred to was the one he was already doing with me. I was simply asking a quick question while completing my purchase. The response felt unnecessary and dismissive. A simple, polite answer would have been enough. Customer service should not feel this unfriendly over such a basic question.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
