After waiting in line and finally getting to the counter, I asked the gentleman if he could test my battery. He barely made eye contact and told me to wait so he could assist the customers behind me. I reluctantly agreed. After helping the two gentlemen behind me, a new customer walked in with a return and he chose to assist him before me as well. Being passed over not once, but twice, was extremely upsetting. I am a customer with a legitimate need, and I should be treated with the same level of service and respect as anyone else. As a single woman, it was disappointing to feel overlooked and dismissed. I left and went to AutoZone instead. I was greeted immediately, and when it was my turn, the employee stopped what he was doing to help test my battery. He explained my options clearly, went over possible costs, and had me on my way quickly. That is customer service. Because of this experience, Advance Auto will no longer be my first stop when I need help in the future.
