- SSSquatchJan 13, 20261.0I went into the store to do a warranty exchange on a broken part. I was prepared with the part and my online order already pulled up on advance site. The lady was very rude and told me she couldn't exchange it I had to go to the store where I originally purchased it. I tried telling her it was originally an online order and showed her this. She just kept saying how advance had lost so much money in returns and she couldn't do it. Another employee came out and tried to assist her on how to do it but the phone started ringing and he had to help another customer. She finally called the other store where I originally picked up the part that had now failed. The manager there walked her through doing my exchange. She was very rude the whole time even cursing and telling me how much she hated online orders. I will not be returning to this store and honestly will avoid advance in general. Oreillys is always more than accommodating.

After having an issue with the store and being quite frustrated, they resolved it quick and effectively and with a smile on their faces. I would not recommend this store enough and especially this store manager. He obviously has more customer experience than almost every manager I come across. Kudos.

He was super kind and understanding. He took my issue seriously. Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
