I had my car towed to TireDiscounters because it wouldn’t start. It turned out to be the battery which was still under warranty elsewhere. They charged it 3 hours before I picked it up and charged me nothing. They were incredibly kind, helpful, and honest.

From the minute you walk in and Leigh Ann greets you, to when Conner tells you the diagnosis or helps explain what’s wrong with your vehicle, you know you are taken care of. What an amazing staff, and great prices! They truly make you feel like you are part of the family! I’ve had tires put on here, inspections, and other repairs. They explain and show you anything they find. This is the only place we will take our jeeps.

On December 4, 2025 I posted a one-star review (see below) of an oil change/splash shield mess I experienced at Thompson Tire. The next day I received an online reply from the owner of Tire Discounters Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio apologizing and asking for further details.
On December 9th I responded to the online request and provided the invoice number and contact details connected to the events.
The next day, I received a call from Conner, the General Manager at Thompson Tire on Williamson Road expressing regret over my oil change experience. He also asked me to provide a copy of the Firestone Auto Care invoice ($95.61) for removal and cleaning of the splash shield, which I did shortly thereafter.
On January 2, 2026 I received a reimbursement check in the mail for $95.61. Tire Discounters’ quick reply to my review and apology as well as the phone call from Conner and the subsequent reimbursement, though unexpected, were all appreciated. It was apparent that they wanted my confidence in their services restored. They have been, and I want only the best for their business going forward.
One-Star Review -
The GOOD – Purchased and had Michelin Cross Climate tires installed on my Subaru Forester at the Williamson Road location. I noticed a significant difference in handling right away, especially with cornering. The ride was also much quieter. The free alignment service and TPMS service kit with purchase was a bonus.
The BAD – I was given a coupon for a free oil change and returned a month afterward to use the voucher. I set and arrived 15 minutes early for a 10:30 a.m. appointment. At 11:00 a.m. the Forester was still sitting on the lot. Shortly thereafter it was finally moved into the shop. At noon I asked how much longer it would be. After leaving and consulting with the technician, the service manager returned and informed me that oil was been spilled in the engine compartment and cleanup was in the process. When the Forester was ready, I noted it had taken almost two full hours to complete the simple task.
The UGLY – The next morning, when I moved the car out of the garage, I noticed oil drips on the floor. Upon inspection, most, not all, of the oil around the engine had been cleaned up, but the problem was a vast amount had settled in the splash shield that protects the underside of the engine. Every day, when I moved the car out, there would be oil that had dripped down through holes in the shield onto the floor. Growing tired of the daily drips, I made an appointment, 10 days after the oil change, to have Thompson remove, clean, and reattach the splash shield.
The day following, in addition to oil, there were now solvent drips. Believing that the tech had simply just sprayed a solvent from above onto the shield and called it good, I took the Forester to a competitor and for $95.61 had it removed. My suspicion was confirmed. This time it was cleaned properly. I was told that what most likely caused the spill happened when the Thompson tech did not put the oil fill cap on before starting the engine, which threw oil everywhere. The exasperation was now over.
OK, we all make mistakes. But, when we do, we should own up to them, learn from them AND we should clean up the mess we made (the first time and certainly the second chance given).
This occurred between 29 Sept. and 2 Dec. 2025.
Frequently Asked Questions About Thompson Tire Discounters
How do I know if I need an alignment?
The #1 cause of uneven or rapid tire wear is misalignment. Your vehicle also may pull to one side or feel "loose" when steering, and you might even observe a drop in fuel economy. Alignment is critical to tire life and vehicle safety. In fact, if you install new tires on a misaligned vehicle, some manufacturers won't even honor your tire warranty.
