I do NOT recommend this shop for glass replacements.
I have a 2025 Chevy Trax that needed a windshield replacement, and the experience I had here was completely unacceptable. When I picked up my vehicle, I immediately noticed the windshield had been installed incorrectly. It was visibly off-center, leaving a gap on the passenger side and causing the rubber stripping to be pushed underneath the glass instead of sitting on top where it belongs.
When I brought this to the attention of the front-desk employee, his “solution” was to come outside with a razor blade and try to pry the rubber out; which he couldn’t do because the windshield was so misaligned. Rather than offering a real solution or bringing out someone qualified to address the issue, he insisted the damage was my fault, claimed I must have pushed the rubber in myself, and told me I would need to file an entirely new insurance claim if I wanted it corrected. He was also rude and condescending throughout the interaction. When I asked for warranty information, he simply said it had been emailed and walked away.
I then spoke with the manager, who was polite, but still stated I would need to come back for a full redo. After reading more reviews of this shop that evening, I decided to get a second opinion and I’m glad I did.
At the new glass repair shop, both the manager (a former installer) and an installer came out to inspect my windshield. Before I could even explain the issue, they immediately pointed out multiple problems, including that the driver-side corner sits higher than the roofline, while the passenger side is sunken in. They explained that this could easily lead to water leaking into the vehicle and potential long-term damage. This was my first windshield replacement ever, and my car is brand new; there should not have been a single issue.
They also told me the windshield was installed so poorly that it was considered unsafe, and that the entire installation, including the new windshield, would need to be completely redone. They were concerned that some parts may have been installed incorrectly, or that components were possibly glued when they should not have been.
When the second shop reviewed the paperwork from my original appointment, they were shocked. Safelite charged my insurance the full replacement amount, then also charged me an additional $209 for choosing an OEM windshield; yet my insurance company and the new shop both confirmed I should NOT have been charged anything extra for OEM glass.
To make matters worse, both the new shop and my insurance said I should have received a full calibration report with a lifetime guarantee. Instead, Safelite gave me nothing but a certificate stating the calibration was done and that it was only valid for 30 days.
My insurance company was stunned. The new glass repair shop was stunned. And frankly, I am disgusted.
This level of workmanship, dishonesty, and lack of customer care is absolutely unacceptable. I will never use this shop again, and I strongly recommend others avoid it as well.
I’ve added some photos, but I’ll be uploading more soon, as these do not show all the damage that was caused.
