- MTMartha Tyler6 days ago3.0I went to NTB 3/31/25 for a persistent squeaking under my hood. I told the shop that I was certain it was the serpentine belt. The shop, however, told me that there was nothing wrong with my belt, and that the brakes were the issue. So I get my brakes fixed. Not a day later, the squeaking starts up again, this time more aggressively. I decide to take my vehicle to another shop, which promptly informed me (and provided photographic evidence) of my shredded serpentine belt. Lo' and behold, after they fixed my car, the squeaking went away. Overall, considering the danger of I would have been in had my serpentine belt snapped (due to what I can only call borderline negligence), I do not recommend coming to this shop if you suspect something serious is wrong with your vehicle. If you do decide to go with this shop, I recommend you get a second opinion from a more attentive mechanic. The image attached is from the work I had done on my belts.
