- LALiz AxbergMar 30, 20261.0Went in for a battery replacement yesterday and was helped by Melissa and Alex. While they were polite, I’m extremely disappointed with the outcome of the service. I was never informed that this process could potentially damage my vehicle’s paint. After leaving, no one cleaned off my truck or checked for any residue. Today, (the next day), I noticed spots all over my truck, along with a large streak where the paint is now damaged and peeling. I have put a lot of time and money into maintaining and protecting the trucks paint. I mean, this 09 looks brand new for a reason. So this is incredibly frustrating and upsetting. This is the second car battery i’ve bought from advance auto, and up until now it’s been great. But if you are looking for an auto store, I highly recommend that you visit any other franchise.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
