  They're running a scheme where they don't have the vehicle you reserved but will rent a higher class one to you for additional costs, (which I was told was $160 a day but they would get me there employee discounted rate. Still a lot of money). It used to be if a rental company didn't have your vehicle you'd get the upgrade free with an apology. From Sixt you "get take it or leave it, I've got other people waiting" ....to be fleeced! Look where is my advice.

  Will never use this company again! Prepaid reservation- showed up with no cars available. Asked if they cancelled my reservation- They said yes. Come to find out- they marked me as a now show and charged me full fee. Customer service isn’t helpful. Use any other car company!

  I had never heard of this company but now I'm glad we did. The vehicle we were expecting wasn't available but we were given a very nice upgrade. Theresa was very cordial and professional. Ironically, some friends were coming from out of town and made reservations with another major company and were given a confirmation. When they arrived for pickup they were told that there weren't any vehicles available, and definitely not in the class they requested. Big names don't always equal a better deal.

  When my flight got cancelled, the worker at Sixt in Norfolk told me I could rent a car and drive and return it in buffalo ny. Come to find out, there are no drop off locations in buffalo ny. After driving 9.5 hours to get home to buffalo, I had to drive with all of my kids 8 hours round trip to return the car in Pittsburg. The worker was not only dishonest about being able to return the car, she was also dishonest about the car having snow tires. It did not. So I had to drive 8 extra hours through a snow storm with my kids to return this rental and they refused to give me any sort of refund, except a small 30 dollar refund for gas. They also charged me for an extra day of having the rental because the drive to Pittsburg extended my rental a whole extra day. Working with this company has been the most horrible customer service experience I have ever had.
