- PSPrecious Smith3 days ago1.0I rented a car from Enterprise from December 13–19 and the rental itself was fine, but the issue is with my deposit refund. As of January 10, I still have not received my deposit back. I’ve spoken with over seven different staff members, and each time I was given a different explanation. There has been no resolution or clear answer. To make matters worse, I used a credit card at the time of rental and a debit card at return, and instead of releasing the original deposit, another deposit was taken, which also has not been returned. This experience has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. The lack of communication and accountability has made something that should be simple unnecessarily stressful. I hope Enterprise addresses this issue promptly.

Then, to be cautious, I called Enterprise two hours before my pickup to make sure they had my reservation and the car would be available, and they confirmed everything. To my surprise, once I arrived (on time) at the Newport News Airport Enterprise rental location, they said they had no cars available. When I mentioned that I even called and confirmed availability two hours ago, the representative at the counter asked if I had called the main Enterprise corporate number online to confirm, because he said they don’t know the available inventory of specific locations. Question for Enterprise: if the corporate agent on the phone can’t actually confirm car availability in your locations then why pretend, assuming the local agent was correct? Fortunately for me, the Hertz counter 30 feet away had a car for me, and my vacation wasn’t ruined. (No, I’m not a paid Hertz shill.)
