  Worst experience ever. My box truck broke down on the side of the highway and my guys couldn’t remember the exact location. I got a call a day and a half later after it was towed to tell me that I owed a day of storage and $225 for a towing fee. They took my driveshaft out so that they could tow the truck. This is a big orange box truck that has my name and phone number all over it. I’m asking the lady why didn’t they call me as soon as they got to the truck and figured out it was a business vehicle. She stated that they were waiting on me to figure out that they had the truck and call them. No, I said what you did was you waited a day and a half so that I can owe you a day and a half worth of storage And then on top of that my truck doesn’t drive because you took the drive train out so then they charged me $275 to tow it right down the street from them to goose automotive which is on the same street. $650 laterit’s just a sad case of greediness. I still didn’t get an answer as to why they couldn’t pick up the phone and call me when they. It’s just a sad case of greediness. Everybody’s brain went dumb at that moment I guess.   The way towing is handled here especially toward 3rd shift workers is outright predatory. Employees are already dealing with shuttle buses that don’t run often enough and are frequently full, so people are rushing just to make it to work on time. Because of that, cars end up slightly off line or parked tighter than usual. In some areas, especially the third section, there aren’t even clearly marked parking lines, which makes it even worse. Instead of showing any level of understanding, multiple cars get towed at once—even when large parts of the lot are empty. It doesn’t come across as enforcement for safety or order. It feels like targeting working people over technicalities. What makes this even more disgraceful is the timing. These tows often happen during overnight shifts especially on Fridays, so people come out after working long, physically demanding hours to find their vehicle gone. Then they’re hit with a $175+ fee just to get it back. That’s not just inconvenient—that’s financially damaging for people who are already working hard to make a living. So much for caring about the people who build ships for our servicemen and women. The lack of consideration here is blatant. This entire setup feels like it’s designed to take advantage of workers who don’t have the time or energy to fight it. That’s what makes it so disappointing. This isn’t just frustrating—it’s wrong. I sat in my vehicle and witnessed them tow cars from 3 am all the way until the end of the shift when people are getting off work. Capitalism at its finest. Just disgusting. Shame on David’s towing AND shame on Newport News Shipyard. Making money off workers in this manner is shameful!

  It is clear, this company makes its money from towing cars away, even from parking lots of inoperable businesses. I’m pretty sure they just stake a claim on lots and run their operation without consent from the building owners.

  They stole my car from the shipyard even though my parking decal was clearly visible. The mechanic who worked there heckled me as I was picking up my car. Just to make sure I was having a bad day I guess.

  David’s towing is straight bs they got a contract with the shipyard to tow cars Monday thru Friday but they taking people cars on the weekend when the shipyard states the weekend is free to park also they said if they didn’t have a decal on there window the suppose to get towed so there was a car in front of me with me no decals they didn’t get towed I got towed because they said I was illegally parked which I was in a spot that had line in it but the shipyard didnt give them specific information on the spots they gotta tow from , so basically they towing people cars to get money because they got a contract thru the shipyard they will be going to court with me and I know a couple more people who cars they illegal towed so Yeaa we gon go to court in David’s towing it’s no way yall don’t care enough about people and what they got going on long as they getting money they don’t care about other people like I said the shipyard stated the weekends was open to park anywhere but David’s towing knows that because they got a contract which states what to tow they tow people just because they got the contract it’s over 200,000 people that work at the shipyard and they towing illegally because the shipyard said they can tow thats not right and im telling yall now David’s towing will not be towing in the shipyard after I got to court on them
