The judgement seemed completely baseless, as if seeing someone in a JMU shirt marked them as an easy target. My drain plug has never had any issue loosening from the oil pan, yet they tried to push a bill of around $600, not liking a 50% discount coupon. All I had gone in for was an oil change that should have cost me about $50 and they were like "we cannot unscrew the drain plug because someone overtightened it and now we must replace the entire oil pan with tones of labor, etc." 🤦♂️ I took my car back to the same garage that carried out the previous service, and everything was resolved smoothly, exactly as expected.
