I had bought 2022 ford explorer at the Harrisonburg dealership in October of 2025. 1 month after buying check engine light came on (this was a certified vehicle ) and had about 35000miles left of factory warranty. I took to them and was told just a generic code we will reset it and see what happens one week later comes on again again reset it and sent me on my way week later again so they finally looked at it and called me said it needed plugs and cool packs so I said I would just come and do it myself because they had told me it would cost around$1000. When I got there they told me there would not be no paperwork because now it needed a new engine ok when can you all get it in. They had told me probably about 3 to 4 weeks just keep driving until we call you so finally a month or so they tell me they are ready so had it a week and 1/2 sent me a text saying its ready I go to pick up and they said call is not ready because a light came on but was never notified that was not ready and took off work to get there in time. So finally picked car up the day after drove home then back to Bridgewater car over heated left my wife sit so had to take off work again to go get my wife and never did offer a rental or nothing said it had to be approved but a clamp came off and run coolant out. This has been the worst experience I have ever had through a dealership I have had car about 4 months and drove it about 1 month out of 4 and run back and forth to follow out what they needed not once did they help us out on being down a vehicle.

Bought a new Maverick, was delivered the next day with all the stickers still on the windows and broken glass on the floor in the back seat area. .truck was not delivered clean, but did come with full tank of glass. Next day I get in it to leave and a message appears on the screen that my wiper fluid was low. That didn't happen overnight sitting in my garage. Considering the amount of money I just spent, I was a bit disappointed.

Bought a slightly used F150 from them. Overall real happy so far. The truck had a minor fender bender and had the tail gate replaced ( which they did not disclose) The bumper end cap had a slight dent. I wanted them to replace it but they would not even consider it ($270 part on Amazon) So I was a bit disappointed with that. Oh well they are car salesmen. I don’t expect them to be honest or have integrity.

I purchased a pre-owned (not a Ford) from Harrisonburg Ford. They showed me the Carfax but not any Pre-Delivery prep work performed. I was able to obtain all pre-delivery work orders on my own. It said brand new tires were installed and balanced. On the test drive I had stayed on local streets. After the delivery I was on I-81 and felt a distinct vibration in the steering wheel. I suspected their was an issue with the balance and took the vehicle to an independent shop. They found that NONE of the tires were even close to being in proper balance. So after an additional expense I now have properly balanced wheels/tires. In addition, the VA Inspection requires good wiper condition on front wipers. My vehicle has a rear wiper and the wiper was brittle and ripped and needed to be replaced. Somehow Harrisonburg Ford felt that replacing the rear blade was not required by law so they ignored it. Another expense for me. And then the icing on the cake was the drivers side sun visor was not even attached to the headliner. On the test drive I did not need to use it and only discovered it on the first sunny day when I needed it. Another repair for me to do. My advice is to take any pre-owned vehicle to an independent shop to be completely checked out. Very disappointed in the pre-delivery vehicle prep "performed" and will NEVER trust Harrisonburg Ford's Service Shop. Update after Harrisonburg Ford Replied - Mr. Cunningham, why in the world do you think I would trust the Service Department to work on the vehicle? Obviously the pre-delivery inspection fell short. The defects are all clearly laid-out and factual. In fact, one of your Service Managers has the rear wiper and never offered to reimburse me for the cost. I felt the balance was far off and the other shop allowed me to see how far off with my own eyes. Way off! In fact one wheel had almost double the necessary weight. Does you pre-delivery Inspection include allowing a sun visor to not even be attached to the ceiling/headliner? Considering the Service Manager just shook his head when I showed him the wiper and all but "agreed" that the wheel balancer my need to be recalibrated I am happy to spend my own money to be sure my vehicle is roadworthy. How about we both learn from from this experience instead of claiming that a review was unfair to your Service Shop.

Highly dissatisfied. Had my car a whole year because it needed the engine and transmission warrantied out. Been told so many stories from the beginning on oh we submitted it to warranty or stuff of that nature when it never was because I called to see what was going on. Warranty did not have any claims. Then I was told oh the person that was working on it has been in the hospital for months. After that I was told again oh we are working on it and waiting on warranty to approve it. Yet again it was not submitted to them. After that I called them and told them if they don’t have time to work on it I would move it to a different ford dealership. They informed me they were working on it. Fast forward to December a whole 11 months later I called and after all the run arounds they said that they needed my model number to warranty the transmission and it was the same information I gave the when I first dropped it off and told them if they need any more information they can contact the shop that put it in. I ended up having to get all the information for them for it to actually get submitted to warranty. Finally just got my car and brought it to a shop I work at because brakes did not feel normal before it got left there and I needed to state inspect it. Realized they did not fill my brake reservoir up at all when they removed it. My coolant was extremely low. Everything looks half fast put together and now I’m suffering having to pay for new brake pads and rotors with a brake flush because they couldn’t complete a job correctly and won’t own up to it. Also, putting my life in danger and ruining my braking system because I was lucky enough to be able to stop barley.
