- AZAleksandr ZakharenkoJan 27, 20261.0I went to the store to buy a part for my 2012 Ford F-250. The employee checked the VIN number and said it would fit, so I bought it. When I got home, I wanted to replace the part and saw that it didn't fit my truck. I didn't even open the packaging. I went back to the store to return the item the same day, a couple of hours later. In response, I was told that this item was non-returnable. I've never encountered anything like this before, where an unopened item couldn't be returned to the store the same day. They offered to replace it with a part that would definitely fit, but that part wasn't in this store and would have to be delivered by 3:30 PM that same day. I agreed, but now it's 4:30 PM, my truck is still not repaired, and my $70 is still in that store. This is the worst car parts shopping experience I've ever had in my life.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
