- CRC RDec 19, 20251.0For over 15 years I and my family have used Advance Auto for our vehicles. We have probably purchased well over $3,000 to $4,000 annually. We own several farms. Last year I purchased a battery from this store. Today I took the battery to be checked out. There was a dead cell. I got it replaced and purchased some spark plugs, I got home and realized I couldn’t change the spark plugs but needed a turn signal light and a head light. With the return I would only owe $11 to them. But guess what? They refused. The spark plugs was purchased and in my procession for only 3 hrs. Advance stated I was a bad risk on returns. The reason the battery I returned they claimed wasn’t under warranty and they acted like I had somehow gyped them out of a battery. I went to OReileys in Gate City. Not only did I get my lights I got them cheaper. NO MORE DEALINGS WITH ADVANCE!! I will never purchase anything from them again. I will also make sure that no member of my extended family will buy anything from them. Nor any of my friends! Many are cattle farmers and we will just head to Rural King, Tractor Suppy, OReileys, and Amazon.

- SSSanAug 6, 20251.0Get a brand new battery 2 weeks ago, thinking its a battery problem. I was been told by attendant that if battery doesn’t fix the problem, than you can return it. When I went back, they didn’t returned the Battery. Tyler and Rob were the one who handled the case.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
