- SMSonya MeeksNov 17, 20255.0Today while traveling from NC to VA for a turn and burn furniture run, we found ourselves needing an alternator. My husband looked up this store and we were greeted most immediately by two gentleman. When I say they leaped into action to help us get back on the road, they did just that. We purchased an alternator and my husband got busy putting it on. These two fellas let him borrow the tools AND periodically came out to check on him while he worked and helped as much as they could. If you EVER need auto parts in Franklin stop by this store and see David and Charles. There are still amazing people in this world and today we met two of them! We are forever grateful.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
