I brought my 2009 Toyota Venza here for a Virginia State Inspection. It failed for a "weak" rear strut. They quoted me $1,200 to replace both rear struts, or $700 for just one.
After checking with other local independent shops in Sterling/Falls Church, I found the average price for this exact job (including alignment) is $850–$950. Quoting $700 for a single side felt like a high-pressure tactic to make the $1,200 "deal" look better. I chose to take my car elsewhere.

I'm not one to complain, but this is unfair. I bought four new tires and spent around $1400 at this store, and one of them went flat. The car was parked for two weeks during the snowstorm on January 25th, and when I checked, the tire was completely flat. It's a total loss; it can't be repaired. It's a manufacturer defect. I went to the store and waited 40 minutes only to be told that the manufacturer wasn't responsible. I wasn't angry, just disappointed. You trust these brands like Goodyear and these stores, but it's all a facade where they invent any excuse to avoid taking responsibility for manufacturer defects.
