- TRTracy RiffelDec 17, 20252.0I’m honestly left hoping that the windshield itself was installed correctly, because nearly everything else about this service went wrong. The recalibration — which is the reason this service is now so expensive and unavoidable with modern vehicles — was done incorrectly. After pickup, multiple steering wheel controls were not working, including cruise control and lane keep assist. A light appeared on my dashboard that had never been there before, and several safety features were disabled. None of which I tried to use until I was out of town and on the freeway, 20 minutes away. Because I live out of town and had another appointment immediately afterward, I didn’t realize the full extent of the issues until I got home. Attempting to resolve this by phone was incredibly frustrating. The local Safelite website only routes you to an automated 1-800 number, with no way to contact the local shop directly or speak to a human about a serious issue. I ultimately had to take my truck to a Honda dealership the next day, where they corrected the recalibration issues that Safelite failed to perform properly — at additional cost to me. On top of that, my dash cam mount was broken during the service and I was never informed. When I picked up the vehicle, I was told the dash cam wiring had been put back and I only needed to plug it in. The camera was already hanging inside the mount housing. After reinstalling it on the windshield, the camera began falling off while driving. The retaining pin that secures the camera to the suction mount was missing. There is no reasonable way this went unnoticed. I paid extra specifically for proper recalibration, and it was botched. Between the poor workmanship, lack of transparency, and complete inability to contact the local store afterward, this experience felt rushed and careless rather than professional. Very disappointing.

My back glass was shattered and I called this company to help me get it replaced. They scheduled a time to come get the repairs done and, on that day, they n ever showed up or called. When I called to find out what was going on they told me that my glass hadn't even shipped yet. At this point it had been almost 5 days since I had reached out for service. At that point I was told that they would let me know when the glass shipped and then they would set up a new appointment. This was unacceptable. I then felt compelled to reach out to another company, ANY other company, to see if they could help me. I found a place that was able to replace my rear glass the very next day and they did an amazing job. Safelite treated me like I meant nothing and I'll never request or recommend their services ever again. My last interaction with this company will be and has been me telling them to remove all information they have on me and never contact me again. If I could leave a 0 star review I would.
