However, I do not agree with their decision and believe it was unjust - essentially, a rip off which will cost me $1,1000. Bought my Certified Used Volvo two years ago. Noticed there was damage to the wheel well recently. They took it apart and noted that someone, at some point, added a fastener in the well. This was never identified during their inspection but led to $1,100 worth of damage. Ever since I've owned the car, CMA Volvo of C'ville has been the only ones to work on it. Never gone anywhere else and I know that I didn't add the fastener; I don't have the means nor the skill. Clearly, this was present when they inspected the car and they either did not notice it or ignored when they did. The fastener was not a Volvo part and whatever issue it was supposed to remedy should have been noted and addressed during the inspection. They did not and it led to damages: This part came loose and damaged several areas in and around the wheel well. All seemingly because of whatever the preexisting issue was the was attempted to be repaired in a ineffective way. Finally and the kicker: I contacted Volvo corporate who stated they would investigate. All they did was call CMA and ask them for their take, which they then reported back to me as fact: The damage was new and not preexisting. I will never do business with CMA Volvo again which is a shame as I could have purchased a near exact car for less at Carvana but wanted a local shop with local support. Wonderful UPDATE: CMA VOLVO DID FOLLOW UP BY TELLING ME THAT THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY AN EXTERNAL SOURCE AND THEREFORE NOT COVERED. HOWEVER, THEY MISSED THE POINT. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THIS WAS PRE-EXISITING AND THEY MISSED IT OR IGNORED IT. THEIR RESPONSE DOES NOT ADDRESS MY ISSUE. NOW THEY ARE INTENTIONALLY MISLEADING ME AND IGNORING MY COMPLAINT (I also reduced their rating to one star as a result of this run-around)
