  We recently traded in our RV for a new one of the same model. The staff at General RV Ashland worked diligently to make sure the process went smoothly -- in many instances, several of them went above and beyond to resolve problems and accommodate our needs. Specific thanks to Michael with the delivery assistance. Also Andrea, Beth, and John. Brian in sales deserves a huge shout out for putting together a trade in deal that worked really well for us. And Danny for coordinating service and maintenance of the trade in. Cheers guys, thank you!

  We purchased our RV from General RV with explicit assurances that a thorough pre-delivery inspection had been completed. Within three months, we discovered two significant leaks from the skylight and bathroom vent—clear evidence that no proper inspection was ever conducted. When we brought the unit in for repairs, staff acknowledged we had been misled about the inspection and completed a full roof seal at no charge. However, the repairs have been ineffective. After two shop visits for the same recurring leak and now a third leak developing, it’s evident there are systemic quality issues with this unit. What’s most concerning is the disconnect between General RV’s promises and their actions. We were repeatedly told “we’ll make it right” and “call us if you ever need anything,” yet when we requested they stand behind their product, we were offered a trade-in value of only one-third of our purchase price—for a unit we’ve barely been able to use due to ongoing defects. We paid over $30,000 for an RV that has spent more time being repaired than enjoyed. General RV sold us a defective unit under false pretenses about its condition, failed to resolve the issues despite multiple attempts, and then offered an insulting buyback price that would leave us with a devastating financial loss. I’m hoping General RV will honor their commitment to “make it right” by offering a fair resolution—whether that’s a proper repair with a warranty guarantee, a reasonable trade-in value, or a buyback at a price that doesn’t penalize us for their failures. Until then, I cannot recommend this dealership to anyone considering an RV purchase.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

  Worst service department ever. No communication, they will charge you without telling you that the warranty work is not covered, and they nickel and dime you on every little thing. We had an appointment 6 months in advance, our camper was in the shop for 5 days. They made it a point to tell us that, knowing we are full-time rvers, they will make it clear to the service department we need to pick it up first thing Monday morning to have it done by Friday. We showed up, and they started working on it on Friday. It was never complete when we got there, then they charged us over $500 for things we were not informed of. We waited for 6 hours until we got our rig back, half fast completed. We have had nothing but issues with this company, and for how expensive our camper was, we should have never purchased it through them.

  We had a great experience at General RV Center in Ashland, VA with the purchase and installation of after-market theater seating for our RV. We wanted to make sure the fit would be perfect and it would be placed exactly where we wanted it. Tera assisted with the initial purchase and measurements and was very courteous, patient, and professional; NiAsya (our Service Advisor) was very nice and made sure everything was done to our specifications; Jeannie (the Service Manager) was also very nice and made sure our specifications got communicated to the technician; and our technician (Erik) was very professional and patient with us and made sure the seating was placed in the exact spot we wanted so that I was afforded more room behind the passenger seat so that it would fully recline. The install was done just the way we wanted and we could not be happier! All-in-all, we had a great experience with all these staff people and would be happy to use General RV Center again. We highly recommend them!

  I can not speak to they're new campers but I most definitely would not ever buy a used one from this company again. The camper looked great I paid cash 28k plus thinking that they would be fair, but here comes the but. They sold me a camper where the floor boards are loose, the door lock jammed which made me have to climb out of the emergency window just to find out that they rigged it with two small screws to make it stay in place, the entire window fail out luckily I caught it before it broke and when I called the service department it took them a few days to return my call just to say they never touched the emergency window so that's my problem. A friend just brought a 5th wheel for a 100k and I made sure he did not walk into the property. There were other things that's not worth listing, but I would not recommend them for nothing other than a refund.
