National Car Rental at Reagan National Airport was an outstanding experience. The Emerald Aisle service makes pick up a dream. The car was nearly new, which is a surprise in today's rental car game. The staff was all friendly, professional and quick .... and they had enough people around to do the work. So much better than my previous experiences with "H/B" company.

When you make a reservation, there’s a reasonable expectation that a vehicle will be available at the confirmed time. Unfortunately, that was not the case at DCA National. Upon arrival, there were no cars ready, and we ended up waiting in the parking lot for over 1.5 hours while vehicles slowly became available.
What made the experience particularly disappointing was the complete lack of structure or recognition of customer status. The process effectively became first-come, first-served, which undermines the value of loyalty. As an Executive Elite member, I expected at least some prioritization, yet we were ultimately assigned a below-average vehicle, while another customer—who appeared to be new to National—received a significantly better option.
Equally frustrating was the lack of communication. We were initially told the wait would be approximately 30 minutes, which turned into 1.5 hours, with no updates or transparency along the way. A proactive notification ahead of time, or even honest, real-time updates on-site, would have gone a long way in setting expectations and reducing frustration.
Overall, the experience felt disorganized and disappointing. A reservation should carry meaning, and a bit more honesty and communication would have made a significant difference.
Get the email saying car is ready for you, only to put your name on a list and wait around for what is now 30 mins with no end in site for when will actually get a car. Absolute joke. If you don’t have the cars, don’t take the reservations. If you have the cars, then actually pay people to get them ready for your reservations.
I will say the people that are here working are hustling, honestly sucks for them. They have to deal with all the upset people their company stuck them to deal with.

From the moment I called ahead, the experience was already exceptional. Scott took the time to walk me through exactly what vehicles would be available on the lot by the time I arrived for pickup. That level of preparation and transparency before I even stepped foot in the door set the tone for everything that followed.
When I arrived, Daijha and Scott both made the entire pickup process seamless and stress-free. Both were incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of every step of the way.
True to his word, I ended up with a Black 2025 Nissan Rogue SL that had only 156 miles on it. Spotless, comfortable, and fully loaded with wireless Apple CarPlay. Knowing ahead of time what to expect and then having it delivered exactly as promised says a lot about the integrity of the staff here.
What really stood out was how valued they made me feel as a customer. It did not feel like a transaction. It felt like they actually cared about my experience from start to finish. That kind of service is rare and deserves to be recognized. Daijha and Scott are a true asset to this location and are absolutely deserving of acknowledgment at the highest level.

The staff was helpful, especially when it was discovered when my company’s travel consultant booked the rental for Dulles instead of Reagan where we landed on our business trip to D.C. The vehicle on the other hand was not very good. It was new but none of the usb ports were operational and overall the car was just not enjoyable to drive. Sluggish acceleration and poor handling made the drive laborious.
