Then, two months later, I get a call from Alamo’s damage recovery unit (which from what I can tell is similar to a collection agency) stating that there had been “rodent damage” to some wiring in the vehicle and that I have to pay over $800 in damages. Even if there was damage from rodents, which I have no evidence of, there was no attendant in the parking lot in the field in the desert (where I’m sure there are plenty of rodents) where they leave the vehicles. How do we know this alleged damage didn’t happen after the vehicle was dropped off, before it was inspected. This could happen to any vehicle they rent.
