This is the worst interlock company to deal with. The equipment is prehistoric, they take advantage of you being legally bound to their service and have fees you cant take off your lease for things you never asked for. Ive been pay $5 a month for 2 years because they gave me a fabric sleeve that goes over the device. Thats over $100 for a $7 piece of cloth and they wont take the charge off even if you return it. Their customer service is run overseas and the people you talk to don't care at all

This company was pretty rude to me on the phone. I have a unique situation and just needed my device removed. The sent me in circles passing me from person to the next only for the salesman to get angry at me because I wouldn’t sign his contract.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
