- KWKelly WOct 29, 20251.0I used this shop for mobile windshield replacement. Their communication is horrible, as in non-existent. The first appointment I had was for a 12-5pm window and I did not hear anything from the shop concerning their arrival time. I had to call customer service at 4:40pm to find out what was going on and spent over thirty minutes on the phone just to reschedule for an 8-10am window another day, where they assured me I would be first on the customer list. Again, I heard nothing from them until I called customer service at 9:50am. This time customer service was unable to contact the shop or the technician at all so they gave me the technician's cell phone number to continue trying on my own. I finally heard from the technician after calling and texting him and he provided what proved to be an accurate ETA and called when he was headed my way. The technician was nice enough and completed my windshield replacement quickly, which I appreciated. With how large of a company Safelite is and without understanding the ownership structure of locations within the Safelite brand I hesitate to blame the technician directly for the poor communication, as he was responsive enough once I had direct contact with him, and said that the shop never told him that I was to have been first in line. On top of the poor communcation issues, my windshield is garbage. It is ripply/wavy to look through and heavily distorted to the point of inducing headaches. I can't say whether this is due to manufacture, install, or brand of windshield though, but when I click the links in automated text messages from Safelite concerning my experience they only show one of my vehicles to request warranty service on so I haven't been able to request a replacement yet.

When they transferred me to that agent I was told I had a $250 deductible. OK, I thought. Insurance will pick up the $29. Later, after the work, I received notice that my insurance was billed $406! AFTER I paid the $250. That's just not nice.
