  Pre-ordered a full sized AWD SUV. On site, was directed to a traditional jeep by the attendant at the Executive Aisle. The car while nice, was too small for skis and luggage. We requested the Jeep Cherokee a couple of cars down...but was informed that was a different class of vehicle and was subject to an upcharge. Really...since when is a Jeep considered an SUV?? Ended up with a Chevy Equinox which turned out to be a poor choice of vehicle. It was a clumsy over-engineered vehicle with a nav system did not have working audio. Very disappointing experience from a typically strong customer service oriented company.

  Given a car that was not maintained since leaving the factory. Besides filth and wear (the car had only 27k miles!), the key did not work (the battery was dead!), the tires needed inflation, and the oil change was 10,000 miles overdue(!). Never again!

  Update: Sam, the branch manager, and Diego onsite were very helpful today. I want to clarify that everyone onsite was kind and helpful, I simply fell through the cracks of their processes with this incident. Phone support is a third party company and unfortunately you can tell. Diego was thorough and when unsuccessful in locating my item, brought in Sam to further assist. I appreciate the quick and proper resolution Sam offered to mitigate any more wasted time or frustration for me. Thank you. I left an item in the car at return. I circled back 35 minutes later and notified the team at the airport. They spent an hour and a half looking for the car and told me it was lost. I was assured they would locate it and call me that night. They did not. I called customer service the next day and was assured I’d be contacted again. I was not. I called customer service today and requested transfer to the escalation team whom then spoke over me the entire call, dismissed everything I had to say and HUNG UP on me. This is the most unacceptable customer service I’ve ever experienced. What a welcome to Salt Lake.

  National is outstanding, and I have been a Executive/Emerald Club member for 20+ years. With that being said, this location missed the mark. The car selections were very limited and didn't seem accurate for description. I always recommend National, but for this location you may want to chose another rental car company.

  After waiting an hour for a car we had reserved at Avis which they did not have, we walked right over to National and we got two cars for less money and had great customer service. Thank you for saving our vacation. Avis tried their best to ruin it but you saved the day. Thank you Karena and National Car Rental.
