Literally could not recommend this place less. Rented a car from my corporate office for one of my employees. They were adamant that the employee had to have the card I booked the car with, even though that’s literally impossible. The whole point of renting a car for your employee is so that they don’t have to have a card. Just pick literally any other car rental place.

Renting from Alamo was an unexpected pleasant experience. It was easy to go from the plane to the car and everyone was very nice. My husband forgot his ear pods in the car and I got a phone call letting me know that they would hold them at the counter. They didn’t have to do that but they did and we appreciated their service and honesty.

My family was really taken care of by the Alamo team at Salt Lake City (SLC) airport in 2023 when we rented the wrong car for our needs and we were completely accommodated by the SLC airport Alamo team, getting us into the right car quickly and with great customer care/service. On the basis of that one great customer experience, I have since and will only rent cars from Alamo, and I have continued to be completely satisfied with Alamo generally and the SLC airport team specifically; thanks Alamo!

Booked a four-wheel-drive luxury SUV for our annual ski trip — because, you know, snow. At pickup, we were handed a Mercedes GLE. Beautiful car. Luxurious. Smooth. The only minor detail? It was not 4WD. Not AWD. Not “kind of.” Just… rear-wheel drive optimism. The first time it touched actual snow, the vehicle responded by politely declining to participate. It didn’t so much drive as reconsider its life choices. I’m not saying it had summer tires on it — but performance-wise, it felt like we were trying to summit a ski run in dress shoes. This wasn’t just a minor mismatch in vehicle class. It was a safety issue. We explicitly confirmed we’d be driving in snowy mountain conditions, and still received a car fundamentally unsuited for that environment. A ski trip rental shouldn’t double as a traction-control science experiment. Alamo got the “luxury” part right. They just skipped the “actually capable of driving in Utah winter” part entirely.

The employees were great to work with but the cars are crap. I had a 10 day reservation for a car, the first car, a Nissan rouge was leaking oil on the engine 5 days into my rental period so I had to drive it back to the airport to get another vehicle. The only vehicle they had available was a Toyota rav4 that was a complete mess in the interior, had spill marks on the seat, chips underneath the seats and smelled like cigarette smoke. Usually Alamo cars are pretty good but this experience was bad all around.
