I had two reservations by accident, both for a Jeep Wrangler 4x4, one with Alamo, another one with Costco Travel and therefore Enterprise. I was told by the Salt Lake City airport assistant that Emterprise and Alamo are the same entity for their purposes, and that one reservation is a few bucks cheaper than the other one, thank you, Costco. We proceeded to accept the Costco quote and decline the Alamo charge. However, upon return, I was charged the original Alamo charge, not what I agreed to when picking up the car. The difference was only only a few bucks, but I do not understand why I was not charged with what I agreed to. Seems like catch and bait tactics, which I hate. Renting elsewhere going forward.
In all the years I"ve been renting cars, I have to say recent experience with Alamo was absolutely amazing. Completely stress free, fast and friendly counter servicer, quick walk to the parking lot where I was met by an Alamo rep and led to an area to choose a car. The entire process literally took 10 minutes! Returning the car was just as quick and painless. I walked to the airport gate with a smile on my face. All of that incredible service and a week with a car at a great price. Good for you Alamo!! Thank you!! I've been converted!! :)

We rented a Chevy Tahoe from Alamo at the SLC airport to take our out-of-town guests around Utah and the national parks… and honestly, so glad we switched.
We originally booked with Thrifty, but walked into a line that was 50+ people deep and barely moving (one agent holding it down 😬). I glanced over at Alamo, saw no line, checked prices, and it was only about $20 more… immediately switched.
Best decision. We were in and out so fast. Customer service was amazing, everyone was kind and helpful, and the car was super clean. Everything was smooth and easy.
Would absolutely rent from them again.
We rented a premium SUV - Dodge Durango GT for our trip in Park City, UT. We got that vehicle.
The process was smooth and did not take long, luckily the lines were short and moving at a decent pace. It's an airport so you never know. We drove out with no issues, and the return was very simple as well. The employees asked us how it was and if we had any issues and helped us get the vehicle unloaded.
Less than 5 mins on the return and most of that was me getting my luggage together so I wasn't walking in with things hanging out everywhere.
All and all a great experience and I would rent from Alamo again.
Oh and if you are in the car and need to get the plate # just look in the glove box. It's not always on the paperwork they give you but they do put more info in the glove box.
I filled my car literally at the airport gas station before turning it in. Board my plane and when I land, I receive a receipt from Alamo for refueling the vehicle. They charged me for 1/2 gallon at $5.90 a gallon plus a fueling surcharge. There's no way the vehicle used 1/2 gallon of fuel driving from the in airport gas station to the rental return. They would have had to force the fuel in beyond the safety click to add more fuel. What a total scam! I wonder if they charge everyone a refueling fee even if the tank is full and hope that most people don't fight it. Make sure you get a gas receipt when you fill up so you at least have a fighting chance or better yet, pick a rental company that doesn't try to scam you like this. I received a text from Alamo asking about my experience and when I responded with this refueling issue, they never responded. I had to call customer service for Alamo to get the charge reversed which is a waste of my time. This corporate behavior is reprehensible and should not be rewarded.
