  DO NOT RENT FROM HERE PLEASE! Absolutely terrible rental car experience. The car itself was fine, except that its registration expired three days before the end of my rental. To which the rep said “oh it should be fine for a few days after”. The “maintenance required” warning also came on as soon as I got in the car, which I just assumed was for an oil change. The isolating lack of customer service, along with the inability to get a hold of anybody at the office by phone/email, inability to contact budget Utah to make any attempt to ask questions, get clarification, extend my rental, etc, made the experience a gaslighting nightmare (no pun intended). Price I was quoted for online for the rental car was around $400, but I ended up having to pay double because they didn’t give me any other option except to purchase their comprehensive insurance. The lady at the counter told me there’s no other option and I could not leave with the car unless I had the comprehensive insurance. I called the corporate office after this, and they said that this was not technically accurate, and after rereading the terms and services. It looked like there were other options besides this one which the representative made seem was the only option. I was pressed and didn’t have time to reschedule a rental for this Trip, so I had to go through with it under duress. A few days before the end of my rental, I made multiple attempts to call the phone numbers online, and on my rental agreement to extend my rental by 1 day. None of the phone numbers, even the local ones, would go through to the office, or even to the budget Utah office. I had also reached out via email over a week ago and never got any response. All of the Phone lines redirected either to the corporate office (they have no idea what is going on at this bass-ackwards location), or randomly to an office in Atlanta Georgia. The day I was supposed to return my rental, I finally got a phone call from the rental agent, explain to her everything, but not 1 ounce of apology or ownership for the mistakes made. Zero sense of customer service. Completely made me feel like it was my fault that there was no way to get ahold of anyone at the office. I will be looking into a way to make a formal complaint to the corporate offices, as this independent branch is giving budget rental customers an abysmal taste of what they claim to represent. I will 100% be avoiding this location, and potentially all budget locations after this experience, and will recommend budget to absolutely no one unless some morsel of good faith exists in this company to try and make things right in my experience.

  Worst experience we have ever had renting a car. They did not have the vehicle we had chosen and tried giving us a smaller car. Luckily, someone turned in a bigger car, and we got that one; even though it was dirty, we needed to leave for our trip. The other issue was using a virtual card number when renting the car. Therefore, when they requested the physical card, the numbers did not match, and they would not let me rent the car. Since they couldn't understand how the physical and virtual cards were from the same account, they ended up billing me twice! Now, almost a month later, I still can't get it resolved because this Budget store is independently owned, so calling Budget customer service does not help. Stay away from this place at all cost.

  Made a reservation for SUV through Costco. They upgraded me because they were low on cars. Vehicle was new and perfect for our purposes. Process was smooth, everything went well. I get the sense that car shortages are a general problem even for rental companies now, but they still provided great customer service. Thanks again

  I was passed around from the national hotline to the local store to make any changes to my reservation. Nobody was helpful and I was extremely frustrated. The man working at the store was unwilling to be helpful and was not very knowledgeable about his job. Also, Budget Rental advertises to be the cheaper option, but in the end it is way more expensive. They charge more for every add-on! I will never go to Budget again!
