I had a noise coming from the front passenger windshield pillar. I suspected some clips were broken and it would be a couple hundred dollar job with labor and parts. Take it in, I'm embarrassed I dont know his name, but a gentleman came out, he knew I was ignorant about this, and could have totally taken advantage of me as a lot of repair places do. He looked at it and with a couple hard pushes I hear a click and the pillar is secure.
So what I thought I was going to shell out some money, they fixed for free. This seems small, but stuff like this makes me want to return if necessary, crossing me fingers I dont need a body shop soon, but if it happens, I will be returning to Gerber.

Hit a curb and I thought that I had totaled my car, from how far back the wheel was in the wheel well. They took it in, gave me an ETA and stuck by it. You can’t even tell it hit a curb, excellent job and customer service.

Let me start by saying I never write bad reviews for company's because I know sometimes people just have a bad day and maybe that was during your time at that business. Let’s just say it’s going on 6 months and my vehicle is still not back in pre-accident form. I Have been patient to the point I now feel that I was taken advantage of. Let me start at the beginning. I have a 2017 GMC Yukon Denali that was rear end back on February 03, 2025. It had minor damage to the rear bumper, the hitch cover, and a crease in the rear hatch. The person who rear ended me's insurance called and set up an appointment for repair at Gerber Collision in Clearfield. I dropped my vehicle off to them 17 February 2025 for repairs. I spoke with them and got the vehicle checked in and when I stated that I wanted to make sure my vehicle was fixed with OEM parts, I was assured it would be. I was then told it would be about a week or two, and I would have it back. A three weeks comes and goes by, and I call to find out the status of my vehicle. They tell me the bumper is on back order and won’t ship for about a week or two. I know they can’t control that, so I am understanding of course. I got a call a week later that the bumper should be in tomorrow and that they should have it over to paint and installed a day or two after. Another week goes by, i have to call and find out they haven't completed it yet, because most of their techs were out sick due to something going around. I tell them that's fine I understand that stuff happens. Another week or more goes by, they call to say the bumper that was sent was for an XL Yukon and didn't fit my vehicle. Again, I understand this as they said they ordered the correct one and the wrong one was sent. They tell me that they are going to put the old bumper on, and I can pick up my vehicle and just bring it back once the new bumper shows up and is ready to go on. I got a call a few weeks later that the bumper arrived and that they wanted my vehicle back in to install it. I ask how long it will take since I didn't have a rental. I am told just a few hours because after installation we must calibrate the sensors. The day ends, no call! I call the next day to ask about it. The paint person painted the bumper the wrong color I am told. You got to be kidding me. It’s going to be a couple more days. Okay. Call another 3 days later to find out they repainted it and there where runs in the paint. SMH. Finally, it’s all together and ready for pick up at the beginning of May. Go to pick it up and the rear bumper hitch cover is missing. I asked about it, and they said oh we will order one for it. I took the vehicle and waited for a call. Weeks later it’s in and I got to pick it up and it doesn't fit the bumper. They tell me that's the cause after market. I said what's after market? The bumper better not be! He says no the hitch cover is. I said I didn’t want to go to the aftermarket i was clear on that. He stats the cover is on back order so we will have to order it and wait. I said that's fine please order OEM. Weeks into June I get a call that it’s in and to come get it installed. I show up and they go to put it on and can’t get it aligned right. They come back from lunch late and goes “here let me try”. Starts bending the internal plastic bumper tabs down to try and get it to align. Eventually it gets installed. I say I am not fighting and bending tabs every time I need this thing on or off. I asked why is it like that. He says that's because the bumper is after market. WHAT! The other guy who has been the same guy I dealt with since day one says no its not. The tech says yes, it is and points up under the inside of the bumper where the aftermarket sticker is. I've had enough at this point and tell them fix it with OEM and this is unacceptable. He told me they had to use after market because it was cheaper and that's how insurance bills it and he needs me to write a message stating I am not happy with the fitment of the bumper. Running out of space there is more to the story too!!!STAY A WAY. SAVE THE HEAD ACHE
