Even when a part isn't on the shelf, AutoZone is still my first choice every time. O'Reilly's might happen to have an item in stock now and then, but the manager and team at this AutoZone make up for it tenfold. The manager goes above and beyond with exceptional customer service—he'll actively check other stores to save me money, and if they don't have what I need, the staff literally have RockAuto pulled up in another tab ready to help me out. You just don't see that level of honesty and helpfulness anywhere else. One of the main reasons I stick with AutoZone is their parts catalog and lifetime warranties. When I'm working on wear-and-tear items—like suspension components or motor mounts—having that lifetime warranty means I don't have to pay a single dime when it's time for a replacement. I can pull the old part, hand it over, and walk out with a fresh replacement completely free. Every time I walk in for oil change supplies, I just give them my year, make, model, and oil preference, and they go grab everything for me—no hunting down aisles needed. The whole staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and they take the time to know me by name. On top of all that, AutoZone’s credit system destroys the competition. At O'Reilly's, putting your phone number in gets you basically nothing. At AutoZone, after five $20 purchases, you get a $20 credit to use on a big purchase or a small item. Outstanding crew, fantastic service, and rewards that actually pay you back.

I arrived a few minutes after closing while traveling cross-country and having a check engine light on. I explained that I was just trying to find out whether my car was safe to keep driving. The two white/Caucasian employees, one woman and another a male came through the door and shook their heads and said sorry. I asked if there was anywhere else I could go but told continued to shake their heads and insist they couldn’t help. She went on to say this was a small town on a Sunday and everything nearby was likely closed. I understand I arrived after closing, but being stranded in an unfamiliar small town and getting absolutely no direction or assistance was incredibly disappointing and inhospitable. Even pointing me toward someone who could help would have gone a long way.
