- RKRobert KappelMay 1, 20263.0When I picked up the car in WI I didn't review the interior with the agent. The agent there was very good at her job and she is not the complaint. After driving down the road I realized the windows were very dirty and had smear marks all over. Also, the car smelled like cigarettes. I have rented cars before that were obviously deodorized and made it tolerable. In this case, I could tell it had been deodorized, but not recently. I barely got down the road before I needed to open the windows to get fresh air. I did that often, to be able to tolerate the weird odor. Also, the interior surfaces were not clean, showing "gunk" in various places. I ended up buying a pack of disinfecting wipes and Windex and cleaned the interior surfaces and front windows on my own at a rest stop. When I returned the car at the airport, the agent there apologized and offered a small credit of a few hours' time off the invoice, which I thought was very kind of her and the right thing to do. I was satisfied that they easily made a concession. I did not "complain" but only shared my experience with her, but she gave me a substantial discount with apologies. I do use Enterprise often, and this was my first negative experience, but they did attempt to make it right.
