My husband’s truck broke down on our way to the grocery store and we were able to get it into the parking lot of this advanced auto parts. Everyone was super nice while we tried to figure out how to fix it to get it running correctly again. They let myself who is 5 months pregnant and my 4 year old son use their bathroom, tried to help my husband figure out how to fix it, and were just absolutely wonderful. 10/10 would break down here again (hopefully not though)

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
