  We were 12 hours from home when a critical part failed in our car. Against recommendations to drive the car due to it possibly being unsafe, we were able to make it to the Autozone store in Sturgeon Bay. They did not have a replacement part in stock, but they ordered the part and said that it would arrive the same day between 4 and 5 p.m. While waiting for the part to arrive, I did more research on the problem and began to suspect that the Autozone store had ordered the wrong part. I called the store and they confirmed that my suspicions were correct and that they had ordered the wrong part. They then ordered the correct part and assured me at least twice that it would still arrive that afternoon no later than 6 p.m. and that they would call me if there was any delay or problem with the part’s arrival. I received no call so I returned to the store shortly before 6 p.m., only to learn that the part had NOT arrived as promised and they had not bothered to notify me, but they gave me multiple assurances that the part would arrive on the shipment the next morning at 8 a.m. At this point in the day, we had a car that was not supposed to be driven due to safety issues and we were in a tourist town with no accommodations to stay the night. We had a very difficult time finding a hotel that had any availability, and we ultimately got “stuck” paying nearly $400 for a place to stay for the night. Upon returning to the Autozone store the next morning, the Parts Manager informed me that the part had NOT arrived in the morning shipment as promised and there would be no more shipments arriving that day. Instead of taking any ownership of the problem whatsoever, he told me that it wasn’t him who had promised that the part would arrive nor it wasn’t him who had initially ordered the wrong part, and that it was his counterparts who had made all the mistakes. He did not offer so much as a simple apology. This put me in the very precarious position of driving an hour to another Autozone store in Green Bay, who assured me that they had the needed part in stock. Ultimately, to add insult to injury, while the “compatible” Duralast part that Autozone sold me was sufficient to get me home, the car continued to generate errors and I had to replace the Duralast part with a genuine OEM part after arriving home. Simply put, my experience with the Autozone store in Sturgeon Bay was a complete disaster, which cost me nearly $400 to stay the night and put my family at risk with an unsafe vehicle. I would never return to this store.

  excellent help had to call for an issue and the fella there able to get me the information and the part as i came into town and did scan to verify the symptom and had the right part in stock did repair in the lot and on the road 10 minutes.

  If I could leave 0 stars I would. We went back and forth several times, received wrong parts multiple times, we live around 30 minutes away from auto zone and we were told we could pick up the parts we needed and return the other ones later free of charge seeing as we were already in town, and were required a second purchase even though they AGAIN were the ones who gave us the wrong parts. (another trip)

  Dan!  Helped me with my brake problems.  I came in asking for a part, and he suggested that what I said I needed, wouldn't work.  So, together, we re-designed my solution and he found all the parts that I needed.  If it wasn't for Dan, I'd have been back 3 more times, each time finding something that I thought would work, but didn't. He is very pleasant and took the time to really help me.  Autozone needs more3 Dans!!!
