- KDkalani douglasMar 22, 20261.0Me and my fiancé called in advance to see if they had a part. No answer. So drove all the way there just to see a “on break” note on the door and the doors were locked. Mind you we got there at 6:57pm and stores hours said they don’t close until 8pm. So tried calling again and still no answer. Waste of time and gas. After reading other reviews it seems to be a common thing for the workers to have the doors locked during store hours. Pure laziness.
- ZZZyzerJun 30, 20241.0Sold me a defective turn signal relay. Brought it back the very next day and was told they don't do returns on some electronic items and was told I can come back another time to talk to their manager. Edit: after doing some research I found out they sold me a basic relay NOT a turn signal relay like they claimed. The relay they sold me DOES work just not for what they claim it to. They have completely different functions a general relay will not work as a turn signal relay and vice versa. You would think a company of this size would know that but instead they would rather make a sale and screw their customers instead of selling what they claim. I don't entirely blame the people at the register because their computer said it was an interchangeable piece when it is not.

Does Advance Auto test and install batteries?
Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
