    Working with this company was an expensive lesson in cynicism. Story time! I arrive in cold ole Milwaukee for a friend's wedding a while back. Someone else bought my plane tickets, so I thought I'd splurge on a luxury vehicle. No, I didn't read the reviews for SIXT (definitely my bad as their settled lawsuit was mentioned by multiple other dissatisfied folks), and I didn't take walk around videos upon pickup and upon drop off (blame the natural blonde locks and general naivety). Staff was friendly but incredibly pushy (think salesforce, not client relations), and when I declined their company's vehicle insurance because I had my own, the immediate response was raised eyebrows with an "oookkaaayyy." You know--the thing your parents do when you inform them of a decision you've made and they lowkey think you're a bumbling buffoon for it. Anywho, head out. Use the vehicle. Return the vehicle. Receive an email stating I had done almost $1,400 worth of damage to the vehicle, which I vehemently dispute. I pull up the accusatory photos, and not only are they poor quality but also the location of the vehicle in the photos isn't even where I had left the car. My insurance company told Sixt they would only pay a little over half of the costs because even they were unconvinced of the veracity of my culpability. Sixt declined and sent me to collections for the full amount. I paid it yesterday because I can't prove my innocence, and if Sixt would like to refund me the money and then make other good-faith efforts to clean up their reputation on this front, I would appreciate it and could use the funds for my mortgage. Life is expensive out here.

    Arrived on a late night flight, and Sixt tries to get me to pay for an upgrade. I declined and the employee tells me that my car has a "license plate issue" so it's not ready, but the upgrade car is ready right now. I tell him, no. Then he tells me if I won't take the upgrade I'll have to wait for them to fix the licence plate. I sit there for about a half hour and he finally gives me the keys to the upgraded cars. I suspect they didn't have the original car I booked and decided to punish me for not paying extra. Horrible service. I won't rent here again.

    I would assign a zero-star rating, primarily due to the customer service representatives encountered via telephone. I initiated three calls and engaged with two distinct representatives. Neither individual was able to provide a resolution to the issue, nor did they acknowledge any accountability for the situation. The initial interaction was conducted with a higher degree of professionalism compared to the subsequent individual, who demonstrated a lack of decorum and an unwillingness to collaborate on a resolution.I will not be conducting further business with this company, particularly due to the representative's assertion that management was unavailable to address the issue. Humble yourself.. The airport team provided exceptional service, earning a five-star rating; however, the telephone support received a significantly lower assessment due to the issues encountered.

    This was the worst current experience I have ever endured. After returning my vehicle, which I had for 24 hours, I received a “damage report “that reported to have driver side bumper scuffing. As far as I know this damage was not caused by myself and most likely was present when I took the vehicle. Unfortunately, I don’t have photos to prove this. They are demanding $1800 for this complete fabrication. Will fight them to a court room and see how much time they want to invest on this hallucination of theirs.

    BUYER BEWARE- Document EVERYTHING before driving off the lot My rental experience with SIXT started off well. The employee at pickup was pleasant, the car was clean, and there were no immediate issues. I declined all of their insurance options due to booking through a credit card, and as I always do when renting a vehicle I took detailed photos and videos of the car before driving away. The vehicle had the typical wear and tear you would expect from a rental car, including some exterior damage, but nothing unusual. I then used the car without incident and returned it at the end of my trip. When I returned the vehicle, there were no employees present to inspect it with me because I had a very early flight. I dropped off the keys and headed to the airport. Later that day, I received a notification claiming that several scratches had been found on the rims and that I was being held responsible. The photos they submitted clearly showed visible damage. The problem? I knew I hadn’t caused it. Thankfully, my pre-rental video saved me. When I reviewed the footage, it clearly showed the exact same rim damage was already present before I ever left the lot. Despite this, SIXT still opened a damage claim against me and initially attempted to hold me responsible. The case was only dropped after submitting my proof. My advice to anyone renting from Milwaukee SIXT: take extensive photos and videos of every inch of the vehicle before you drive away, including the wheels and rims. Without that evidence, I could have easily been charged for damage I did not cause. The rental itself was fine, but the damage claim process left me questioning how many customers may end up paying for pre-existing damage simply because they don’t have proof. Protect yourself and document everything.
