My husband was treated very poorly by this business. They did not stand behind their transmission work.

I'll be as brief as possible. Years ago I brought two vehicles to this place, a Mustang and a Dodge Caravan. I paid over $3,000 between the two vehicles to have the transmissions rebuilt. The Mustang transmission failed so many times that I literally lost count, at least four times. Each time it would work for a while then fail again. I sold the vehicle, the transmission died again on the new owner and he wouldn't help him. The transmission he rebuilt in the Caravan lasted a while before it failed but while it was at his shop waiting to be repaired the Caravan was stolen. I recovered the Caravan from the tow lot but if had I known, I would have left it there . All the tools and equipment and refrigerant were gone and the van was destroyed. Van, tools, refrigerant and equipment worth over $4k GONE. Not to mention the 1500 I paid to have the trans done I asked if his insurance would do anything about the van and he said no. I accepted the loss, wrote it off and didn't blame him. Even though it wouldn't have been in his lot to get stolen if the trans hadn't failed. I gave him a chance to redeem himself. I brought him a third vehicle that needed transmission work and he offered to rebuild the transmission for a little over HALF PRICE.... Does that sound right to you? Does it feel fair? Why charge anything at all for the third vehicle after the caravan was stolen? It was an older pick up truck by the way (easier and less expensive from what I have been told). I own the appliance store a few doors south. I have comped products and services to do right by my clients many times. That's what good businesses do. If it was me I would have bought a transmission for the Mustang when it came back the third time. I would have done that Third vehicle for free. I would have done it to protect my reputation and to do right by the customer. As a businessman, I might lose money from time to time but I'll go to the ends of the Earth to prevent losing a customer. But hindsight is 2020. This KNOWS HIS STUFF and he runs a good shop. The way he handled is out of character from my previous impressions. We all have bad days and do things we regret.

I own the appliance store a few doors south. I have comped products and services to do right by my clients many times. That's what good businesses do. I can't imagine that he would stay in business long if he treated all of his customers this way. My business has a fleet of vehicles. That is potential business. Why would he refuse to do right by me? I can't help but wonder if the color of my skin seasoned his point of view. He was flippant and kinda laughed. It seemed like he thought I was trying to get over on HIM somehow..... ??? Really? I paid 3k, never got full use of either transmission, lost a vehicle, tools and equipment but I'm getting over? I will never recommend or patronize this establishment ever again.. Full disclosure, I sold him a deep freezer that died. I practically begged him to let me fix it or replace it but he's insisted that he was okay. I don't think this is why he handled things the way he did but it happened and I like to be as forthright as possible If it was me I would have bought a transmission for the Mustang when it came back the third time. I would have done that Third vehicle for free. I would have done it to protect my reputation and to do right by the customer.
