I scheduled an appointment with on March 14th for a basic windshield repair. The technician, Anthony, completed the job but left a mess inside my vehicle and did not put my stickers back on after I specifically requested that he do so.
Shortly after the repair, I began noticing a whistling sound while driving at higher speeds. Within a few days, the exterior trim started popping off whenever I drove over 25 mph or even when closing the car door. This quickly became a serious safety concern, as loose trim could easily become a hazard to other drivers or pedestrians.
I attempted to contact the Kenosha location multiple times during business hours but received no response. I also tried calling the warranty line, where I initially couldn’t even schedule an appointment through the automated system. After three days of repeated calls, I was finally able to reach someone and schedule a warranty appointment for March 28th. I was told they would need a replacement windshield.
I took time off work to be present for the appointment, only for the technician, Christopher, to never show up. I received no call, message, or explanation. I again tried contacting the Kenosha location with no response, and even customer service was unable to reach them or explain the no-show.
The next day, I went to the location in person. I requested a different technician, as the initial work was clearly not done properly. That request was ignored. Instead, I was told it was just a matter of replacing plastic clips, and they performed a quick fix.
As of April 3rd, the same issues have returned—the trim continues to pop off, and the whistling noise is still present.
This has been an extremely frustrating and time-consuming experience. Between the poor initial workmanship, lack of communication, missed appointment without notice, and failure to properly resolve the issue under warranty, I cannot recommend Safelite. You would expect a large company to stand behind their work and provide reliable service, but that has not been my experience.
After reviewing their Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaints, it appears that issues like this are not isolated incidents but part of a recurring pattern. Based on my experience and what I’ve seen from others, I would strongly suggest saving your time, money, and energy by going to a reputable local professional instead.
