- AKAdam KuczynskiJun 24, 20242.0UPDATE: I forgot to post this but I spoke to the district manager about a month ago about what I found out. The new manager I had mentioned below left. Why? Because she was ran out by the inmates aka "employees" for changes that they said didn't make sense. So this place is still run like a joke. I went in to see if things had changed only to find this out. I passed that along to the district manager who is new to that position at Advanced but not overall. Personally, shop at any other store but this one. They truly are there to collect a paycheck and not work. I believe in places trying to do better for the business and their customers. Sadly, this place isn't one of them. This store has been without a manager for awhile, though I am told from corporate that a new one has started today, so nothing I put here should be held against them. This store has been either closing early or not open at all on a weekend because of "short staffing". I can understand the problem but then they need to do their job in posting the hours ONLINE, and not just with a piece of paper on the door. Also, maybe hire some people. This a common occurrence that there is running joke at the AutoZone down the street about this store not being open. Wow. I then get little to no help when I am there about it from their staff. I've called corporate and they have been understanding but the regional VP won't return a phone call after having issues getting parts 2 weekends in a row. You really must not care about your customers to keep this up and probably your employees too considering you don't have many. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because of corporate answering me. Otherwise it would be lower. Do better Advance, if you actually care...

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
