  Insurance required Safelite following chip. First replacement ended in damage to the pillar paint, inoperative automatic wipers, and a water leak, the water leak was due to sealer not contacting the surface for about 8" of the lower windshield with water intrusion per the tech's evaluation. Replacement windshield installed without issue, I was understanding and not mad about anything, the installers were very personable and, frankly, sometimes unexpected things just happen. Damage discussion with management was initially great, essentially a no-problem situation that an estimate would be provided and they would cover the repairs without debate. I felt good about that, after all, it wasn't irreparable paint damage and they made me feel reassured. After the repair estimate was emailed to them, there was no communication despite multiple instances of follow-up. I ended up dropping of a copy in-person and was told they had looked at the estimate already and questioned why the headliner had to come off for the repair, etc, and needed to speak to the repair shop. Heard nothing back, finally sent an email that I was going to contact corporate and my insurance to deal with subrogation...it was that day a call came in with coverage of the repair. I wish nothing bad of these guys, they probably have a solid reputation of quality repair and happy customers, however, my experience started with a mighty flop of a windshield installation, seemed to improve with the promise of good faith, and then slowly became miserable with lack of communication and debate of repair shop estimates. This is my experience and my review reflects that, do your research before you seek windshield replacement and I hope you are one of their happy customers and not one who will not return or recommend, as that dissatisfied customer is me.

  The Fond Du Lac team is incredible!!! Tim handled all of my scheduling and communication, I don't recall the name of the tech who did my windshield repair (they told me it's just slipped my mind) but the whole team there is great!! My car took a bit longer to be finished only due to needing reclaibration for a system that is within my windshield, but they did not return it without it being calibrated completely! I can't say enough good things about this team!! They have my business in any future needs for auto glass repairs!
