- EHEric HeintzMay 2, 20261.0They were infact not open. I just received an email my online order for pickup was ready, so I went right away and when I got there, all the doors are locked. The hours say they are open till 9, supposedly. I called the number twice and it rang consistently until the line cut my off. So the may not be there even when they are supposed to be there. Not even a sign saying something happened and they had to close early. Nothing. Disappointed as I have consistently used Advance Auto Parts for years.

Rude, lazy, unprofessional, etc. Left the store without a part and went to Autozone. They took care of me quickly and the store was full of customers. Advance Auto Parts was empty. I can see why.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
